“If you want to increase your success rate, double your rate of failure.” – Thomas J Watson (IBM)
It was Michael Jordan who said, “I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”
I believe that the majority of people don’t try something for the fear of failure. However, “It is impossible to live without failing at something, unless you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all, in which case you have failed by default.” -J.K. Rowling
Babe Ruth was known as the King of Homeruns, but in some years, The King of Strikeouts. He led the American League in strikeouts five times, and accumulated 1,330 of them in his career.
Michael Jordan missed more shots than you ever took!
Fear of failure is a sure way to guarantee failure…ironic isn’t it? What you are trying to resist will ultimately happen because you didn’t even try.
When we see failure as just another step towards success, it becomes a lot more fun.
“The way out of hell is into the fire”, so get out there and fail the shit out of whatever dream you are reaching for. Laugh about it, learn from it, keep moving forward and the wins will come.
“Fail fast, succeed faster”.
